Carmella Navarro

Founder & Trainer

Ms. Carmella Navarro, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, has had a distinguished career spanning over 30 years. She began her journey in 1991 at the Community Crisis Center in Elgin, IL, where she worked with clients facing domestic violence, trauma, and economic distress. Over the years, she expanded her expertise by serving in various roles within the Employee Assistance Program for companies like Loyola University Medical Center and Northwestern University. In 2008, she transitioned to working with military populations, becoming a Military Family and Life Consultant (MFLC) and later the Suicide Prevention Program Manager for the 85th USARSC. She retired in June 2022, receiving recognition for her outstanding service. Ms. Navarro holds degrees in Human Services and Psychology from National Louis University and is certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, Master Resilience Training, and Professional Coaching. She now runs Connect4Balance, a private counseling practice in Inverness, IL, and collaborates with Heroes4Life, LLC, to provide suicide awareness, wellness, and resiliency training. Ms. Navarro cherishes time with her two sons, Jacob Luis and Joshua Joseph, and her two dogs, Indy and Rascal, who serve as her emotional support animals.

Jennifer Miller

Master Trainer

Jennifer Miller, a dedicated veteran of the US Army Reserve with over 30 years of service, has had a multifaceted career. After graduating from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, she began her military journey at Fort Bliss, Texas, and completed the Equal Opportunity Leaders course, shaping her military path. Throughout her career, she held various positions, including Brigade Deputy Commander, Senior Human Resource Officer, Battalion Commander, ROTC Instructor, and Command and General Staff College Instructor. However, her most fulfilling roles involved directly supporting soldiers and their families. Jennifer served as a Master Resiliency Trainer for the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, focusing on effective communication skills during deployment and reintegration, and played a pivotal role in implementing the Stand For Life suicide prevention program. With an MBA in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University and certifications in resilience training, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and suicide intervention, Jennifer recently retired from the military and now divides her time between teaching suicide intervention and resiliency skills with Heroes4Life Consulting and working as a freelance bookkeeper. She's an active member of her McHenry, IL community, serving in various roles and enjoying life with her husband, Mike.
